Carroll, Lillian
Lola Age 81, of Sherbrooke, passed
away in St. Mary’s Memorial Hospital, Sherbrooke on
Thursday, May 30, 2019. Born in Sherbrooke, she was a daughter of the
late John and Edith (Cook) Laing. She is survived by son,
Farlie (Laura); daughter, Cindy (Buddy) Cook, both of Sherbrooke;
daughter-in-law, Sherry Lynn Vasil, Antigonish;
grandchildren, Tanya (Brian), Robert (Holly), Courtney
(Kevin), Lisa (Michael); great-grandchildren, Lilly, Aaron, and
Kenzie; brother, Lloyd Laing, Riverton; sisters, Lorna Hiltz, Port
Bickerton, Lorraine (Gerald) Pottie, Grand Lake; many nieces, nephews
and their families. Lillian was predeceased by her husband, Robert;
great-grandson, Leo Cook; brother-in-law, Billy Hiltz; sister-in-law,
Theresa Laing. Lillian was widowed at the young age of 40, she
worked at Anderson’s Store for 31 years, loved to sew and
spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held in St. Paul’s
Roman Catholic Church, Sherbrooke, on Monday, June 3, at 2 p.m.
Fr.
Lazarus Guria officiating. Interment to
follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Stillwater. Family flowers
only please. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St.
Mary’s Memorial Hospital, Sherbrooke.
Funeral arrangements are under the dignified and
compassionate care of G.W. Giffin Funeral Home, 34 Main Street,
