Douglas Tiemroth Thorsteinson, 70 passed away on Monday, May 20th at Heritage Lodge care home in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Doug, son of Wanda and Valdi Thorsteinson, husband to Patricia (Aitkenhead) Thorsteinson was surrounded by his family as he found peace after his battle with Lewy Body dementia. He is survived by his three loving daughters Shawnee Guarino and husband Chris Guarino, Andrea Thorsteinson and husband Rock Trembath, Erika Thorsteinson and husband Patrick Cowtan; and one cherished granddaughter: Cadence Guarino.
Doug was born on October 2nd, 1948 in Steep Rock, Manitoba and moved to Winnipeg at the age of 5. He had a full career at Great West Life, retiring at the age of 50. He loved reading, crossword puzzles, carpentry, and spending summer days at his cottage at Lake Manitoba Narrows.
The family will be holding a celebration of life to honour his passing.
