DIANE KATHLEEN GANTZEL
March 31, 1952 – May 27, 2019
With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Diane Kathleen Gantzel on Monday, May 27, 2019 after a short battle with Cancer at the age of 67.
Left to mourn is Jack, her loving husband of 47 years; their children Andrea (James) Senebald, Dennis (Falyn) Gantzel, and grandchildren Zander and Jack. She will be greatly missed by remaining family; brothers Phillip (Lorraine) Pearson and Larry (Gale) Pearson, cherished nieces and nephews: Jennifer (Matt), Amy (Eric), Daniel (Eden), Kristopher, Jesse, Nickolas and their children. Forever loved by her favorite A’s: Angel and Allexella, her cousins (sisters really), the extended Howatt families, the Gantzel families in Denmark and so many close friends. She was predeceased by her parents Roland and Kathleen Pearson.
Diane was raised in St. James and built her life there. Many early summers were spent at their Sandy Hook cottage or in Manitou with her cousins. After a rewarding 40-year career in nursing, Diane retired early so she and Jack could travel, golf, volunteer and relax in Gimli. Her greatest joys were quilting, creating beautiful items for family and friends, and spending time caring for her “Baby Jack”.
A celebration of Diane’s life will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in Khartum Shriners Hall, 1155 Wilkes Avenue.
In memoriam donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3.
