Catharine Evers Maiden Leahy of May 23 2019

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Cathy Evers on Thursday May 23, 2019. Cathy was born in 1932 in Peterborough, Ontario. She moved with her family for a new future in North Central Alberta in 1933.
In 1956, at the Stardust Ballroom, Cathy met the love of her life, Art Evers. Cathy and Art were married on June 8, 1957 and were happily married for 49 years before Art’s passing in 2006.
Cathy was predeceased by her parents Michael and Louisa Leahy, her brother Robert Leahy, her husband Art Evers and her daughter Elaine Evers.
Cathy is lovingly remembered by her son Gordon (Wendy) Evers, her daughter Maureen Evers-Dakers (Tom Dakers). As well as grandchildren Jennifer and Brett Evers and Dwight, Thomas and Dylan Dakers. She will be dearly missed by her friends at the Lions Village Castledowns.
Cathy’s family wishes to thank the staff at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Unit 1 East and Unit 53 for their excellent and compassionate care during her short illness.
