Neil Lawrence Joseph MacDonald passed away after a courageous fight with cancer on May 19, 2019. Neil was born in Fort Coulonge, Quebec to Angus & Zita (Ladouceur) MacDonald on June 7, 1942. As a young child he moved to Nova Scotia where he was raised on a farm until his teenage years, when he worked on the railroad. Neil learned his trade as a millwright while with the coastguard. He met Carol in 1988 in Resolute Bay, NWT while working for the federal government. They holidayed in Loon Lake, Saskatchewan and retired there in 2002. Neil loved animals, step dancing, music, jamming, playing his fiddle, guitar and signing.
Neil will be deeply missed by his wife, Carol; his three daughters, Karen, Maureen, and Sharline; his two step-children, Cory and Leonna; his 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; his step-brother, Guy Meloche; and many other family and friends.
There will be a Memorial Service on Friday, July 12, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. at Grace Fellowship Church, Loon Lake, SK. Lunch will follow.
