1916-2019
It is with sadness that we announce the
passing of Minnie Alice Dawson, 102 years
of age, of Amherst and formerly of River Hebert, NS, at the Cumberland
Regional Health Care Centre on Monday, April 8, 2019.
Born in River Hebert on September 28, 1916, Minnie was a
daughter of the late Thomas and Laura (Theal)
McGilchrist.
She will be sadly missed by her
daughters, Patricia Fraser of Riverview, NB, and Alice Harwood of
River Hebert, NS; sons, Bill (Caroline) of Pictou, NS, Peter of
Westville, NS, Thomas (Coreen) of Tidnish, NS; brothers Rufus (Ella)
McGilchrist of
Parkers Cove, Annapolis Co., NS; as well as thirteen grandchildren and
numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Minnie was
predeceased by her husband, W. Walter Dawson; sisters, Mary Burnett,
Helen Hamilton and Jennie Cannon and her brother Harry
McGilchrist.
Arrangements are under the care and
guidance of the Jones Family Funeral
Centre, 70 Church Street, Amherst (902-667-8777) from
where a public visitation will be held Thursday, April 11, 2019 from 1
pm until the time of the funeral service at 2 pm. William Drysdale DLM
officiating.
Interment will be in the River Hebert Latta Cemetery in
the spring.
Donations in memory of Minnie may be
made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
