Mary (Davidson) Cloney passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Lincourt Manor, St. Stephen, NB where she had been residing since 2011.
Mary was born on a farm in Tower Hill in 1923, daughter of the late Ethel and Alden Davidson. She moved to St. Stephen, NB and worked at the Milltown Cotton Mill until her marriage to James Cloney in 1952.
Mary lived a full life in the community as a member and participant in the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the CWL, Meals on Wheels program and the Royal Canadian Legion. Mary, with her husband Jim, travelled throughout the Maritimes, Western Canada, the Southern states, the Caribbean, England and France.
In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband Jim in 2011 and her siblings, Beatrice Hannon, Regena Ames and Philip Davidson.
Mary is survived by her children: Ann MacPhail of Rothesay, NB., Michael Cloney of Winnipeg, MN., Brenda Haggerty and Brian Cloney, both of St. Stephen, NB. She also leaves behind ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Stephen’s Roman Catholic Church, Milltown Blvd., St Stephen, NB. on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 11 AM.
Interment at Milltown Catholic Cemetery.
For those who wish, donations in Mary’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or a charity of one’s choice.
