It is with deep sadness that the family of Joseph Donald McLean say farewell to a very dear brother, brother-in-law, and uncle. Joe passed away peacefully, with family at his side, on April 18, 2019. He was 54.
Born in Kimberly, BC, Joe spent his youth in Wycliffe, then Creston, and graduated from Prince Charles Secondary in 1982. He attended trades school at SAIT and went on to be an accomplished journeyman glazier. Work took him from Calgary, to Vancouver and eventually Trail, where he has resided since 1994.
Joe is survived by his sister Kathy, brother Grant (Donna), nieces Chelsea (Joey) and Erin, nephew Luke and niece Valorie. Joe was predeceased by his parents Ken and Olive, sister Bonnie, infant brother Allen and brother-in-law Wayne.
Joe can only be described as a very compassionate, gentle soul, never passing judgement and epitomizing tolerance. May the peace he wished for all others, now be his.
By Joe’s request there will be no memorial. A private graveside service will be held in Kimberly at a later date. Bill Clark of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
The family would like to express immense gratitude for those that took profound care of Joe over the years, in particular Wally Turner, Jim Maniago, and Laura de Laforest. More recently, special thanks to the professionalism afforded to Joe by the BC Ambulance first responders, doctors, nurses and staff of KBRH Intensive and Palliative Care Units.
You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Joseph Joe Donald McLean April 18th 2019..
