Obituary of Jim Chalmers
CHALMERS: JAMES ROBERT “JIM”
James “Jim” Robert Chalmers in his 83rd year, passed away Sunday, April 28th, 2019 at Huronlea Home of the Aged. Jim, formerly of Blyth is lovingly remembered by his wife Joan of 60 years and their children Christine and Brad Knight, Mitchell; Dwight and Pam Chalmers, Blyth; Darryl and Lynn Chalmers, Blyth and Michael and Kim Chalmers, Caledonia. Also, lovingly remembered by 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Dear brother and brother in law of Richard Chalmers and Audrey; Mary Louise and Ken Phillips and Gail Chalmers. Predeceased by his parents Robert and Anne (Benninger); and brother’s David and Wally Chalmers. Jim was the last cheese maker in Blyth and then pursued a career as a Stationary Engineer at Huronview Clinton. Jim was involved in his community serving as a past Associate President of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 420, Blyth and past Master of the Blyth Masonic Lodge. Jim’s interests included camping, fishing and finding a bargain at garage sales. As per Jim’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held. Memorial donations may be made to the Clinton Public Hospital or the Alzheimer’s Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Falconer Funeral Homes, Clinton.
