The passing of Jean Thelma (Parent) Vanstone of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Thomas “Tom” Vanstone, occurred on Monday, April 29, 2019 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on February 9, 1940 in Fredericton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Herb and Stella (Curtis) Parent. Jean was a member St. Mary’s Anglican Church and an active member of the ACW. She volunteered with Wheels to Meals and the Boys and Girls Club. Jean was an avid bowler and card player.

Jean is survived by her step daughters, Theresa Hawkins (Blaine) and Elaine Dunphy; daughter in law, Florence Vanstone; grandchildren, Kyle, Warner, Keslie, Chris (April), Tracy, Rick (Shelli) and Rhonda (Derek); numerous great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; siblings, Viola Peterson (late Jerome), Don Parent (Ann) and Elsie Hoeppner (Don); sisters in law, Marina Parent, Joyce Parent, Carroll Parent and Anne Curtis; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and spouse, Jean was predeceased by her sons, Thomas and David Vanstone; siblings, Ruth Allen (late Arthur), Charlie Parent, Phillip Parent, Ronald Parent and Shirlie Curtis.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Friday, May 3, 2019 from 6-8 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at St. Mary’s Anglican Church on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 1 pm with Father Kevin Stockall officiating. Interment will take place at Fredericton Rural Extension Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrance may be made to St. Mary’s Anglican Church.
