Helen Schulz 1928 2019

Obituary of Helen Schulz
Helen passed away, Tuesday, March 26, 2019 quietly and peacefully in the tranquil setting of the Palliative Care Unit at the St. Boniface Hospital.
She is survived by her two daughters: Tanya and Fran; son David (Syane); 6 grandchildren; two sisters: Elizabeth Harder and Margaret Doerksen. She was predeceased by her husband Albert Schulz; sister Katherine and brother Frank.
Helen lived a rich early life on a farm near Arden Manitoba. At a time when women were not encouraged to pursue a career, she determinedly found a way to achieve her dream of becoming a medical professional. In addition to a demanding career, she, together with her partner Albert, raised three children, moving many times, showing her adventurous and adaptable spirit. Helen had a zest for learning and delighted in discussing politics, religion, reconciliation, and the list goes on. Helen loved and appreciated each of her grandchildren for their uniqueness (Shanti, Satara, Akira, Vincent, Leo and Dylan).
The funeral service for Helen will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2019 3:00pm at the Bethel Mennonite Church in Winnipeg. Viewing will take place prior to the service and a private family burial will take place at a later date in Winkler, Manitoba.
The family thanks the entire palliative care team as well as Dr. Bashir and Dr. Ruth Simkin for their Wonderful care of Helen.
Donations in memory of Helen may be made to MCC or the Bethel Mennonite Church.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Helen
