Elizabeth Keighley was a much loved daughter, sister, mother, aunt, and friend.
Elizabeth Ann Keighley (nee Gale), 55, of Nepean, Ontario, passed away at the Ottawa Hospital General Campus, on 17 April 2019, due to cancer.
She was born on 28 September 1963 in Sutton, England, the daughter of Kay Meerapfel and Paul Gale.
Liz was a loving and compassionate person, who loved to be silly. She was beautiful inside and out, was genuine and caring, and made friends everywhere she went.
Liz loved running, movie nights, British humour, and a good glass of wine with family and friends. She enjoyed travelling, shopping, and spending time with those close to her, laughing and enjoying their company.
Liz was very close with her family, especially her sisters, Kate Gale and Sarah Landry, and children, Allison and Cameron. She maintained a close relationship with her parents and sisters, and leaves behind wonderful memories.
She also had a wonderful honorary family, including her best friend of 48 years, Nicola Croot, and honorary sister Deborah Breen, both of whom also shared Liz’s wonderful life.
Liz is survived by her children, Allison Keighley and Cameron Keighley; her sisters Kate Gale and Sarah Landry (Charles Landry); parents, Kay and Paul Gale; nephew Ben Landry and niece Gabrielle Landry; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Her family extends far beyond blood relations, and she leaves behind friends, the Apple Cores, and her coworkers old and new.
She will be missed beyond measure by all who knew and loved her.
To honour Liz and her desire for fun over sadness, there will be a celebration of her life, and cheerful send-off, on Saturday 11 May 2019 from 2-4 pm, in the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Home, 3440 Richmond Rd., Nepean.
Please dress casually – Elizabeth was all about comfort and cheerfulness.
