Peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Woodstock Hospital on Tuesday, April 23, 2019. Beatrice (nee DeWaele), formerly of Scotland, in her 91st year. Beloved Wife of the late Camiel (2015). Loving Mom of Lynn (Martin) Ruttan and Gary (Kim) Masson. Cherished Grandma of Jamie-Lynn (Leigh) Winter, Danielle Donn, and Cody (Raquel) Ruttan and great-grandmother of Keelan, Lucas and Piper. Also survived by her brother George (Rose) DeWaele and Leon (Marj) DeWaele. Predeceased by her sons Marcel (1954) and Gilbert (1998). Bea will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Bea was born on January 8, 1929 in Roubaix, France and came to Canada in 1937 where she married her husband Camiel. Together they grew tobacco and raised their family. She was a devoted member of St. Anthony Daniel Church, Scotland and the Catholic Women’s League also enjoying her exercise group at the United Church in Scotland. Special thankyou to the staff and friends at Langdon Retirement Home in Woodstock for the care and compassion shown towards Beatrice for the past 4 years.
Friends will be received at the Keith Ovington Funeral Home, 134 King Street, Burford on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Parish Prayers will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 3:45 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church, 183 King Street, Burford on Friday April 26, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Delhi Cemetery.
