Amos Joseph “Joe” King
1958-2019
The death of Amos Joseph “Joe” King occurred peacefully on
Wednesday, April 24th, 2019 with his family by his side at the Dr.
Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton, NB.
Born on Thursday, May 29th, 1958 he was the son of the late Amos and
Rose (Blanchard) King.
Joe is survived by his sons, Jason King and William Colpitts;
daughters, Kait Colpitts, Alexa Stack Mills, Lauren Stack Mills and
Olivia Stack Mills; sister, Mary-Anne (Gaylen) Matheson; special
friends, Tracey Stack Mills and Brian Lacey; canine companion, Miko;
chosen son, Stephen Kempt; best friends, Kirk and Dixie Firlotte and
Jules and Paulette Fasquel; several relatives and close friends.
Joe played an important role in many people’s lives, young and
old. He was influential in the sports community as a coach, mentor and
to many children as their bus driver for several years.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by several aunts and
uncles.
Joe’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the
doctors and nurses of 3 east at the DECH, especially his special
nurse, Leah. Also, to Pastor David Williston for his support, guidance
and presence in Joe’s life.
A celebration of Joe’s life will take place on Saturday, April
27th, 2019 at the Christian Community Church (819 Pleasant Drive,
Minto, NB E4B 2V3) at 12:00PM with a reception to follow. Everyone is
welcome to gather at the church at 11:00AM prior to service time. For
those who wish, donations in Joe’s memory made to the Minto
Elementary Middle School Breakfast Program would be appreciated by the
family.
