Alexander Jerome “Alex” Kenny, 87, passed
away peacefully at home with family on April 29, 2019. Born in
Trenton, he was a son of the late James and Catherine (Gosbee)
Kenny.
Alex
was a skilled welder and foreman at the former Hawker Siddley.
Retiring in 1987, he enjoyed many summers camping with family. Alex
enjoyed dancing, had a great sense of humor and loved a good joke. His
hobbies included tinkering in the garage, gardening, putting together
model airplanes from WWII, playing the mouth organ and his antique
fiddle.
He
is survived by daughters: Jean (Myles) Stevens, Delores (Greg)
Johnson, Nancy Ingemansen, Karen Kenny (Allen); sons: Lloyd (Jane),
Robert (Kathy), Gregory (Angela); Gregory’s mother Iona;
grandchildren: Mary, Audrey, Tracey, Robert, Jennifer, Melissa, Shawn,
Steven, Matthew, James, Kyle, Megan, Melanie, Mary, and Zak; 17 great
grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter; sisters: Elva MacLean,
Angeline Stevens; brothers: Jerome, Lloyd (Marion), Roy (Marion).
Besides his parents, Alex was predeceased by his wife, Mary (Farrell),
sister, Mable Bradbury, brothers: James, Terry, Ross and Leo;
son-in-law, Bill Ingemansen.
The
family would like to thank Dr. Kwasnik and the nurses of Palliative
care. Special thanks to nurse Crystal Belong and the entire VON nurses
and home care team that provided exceptional care for the last several
months.
Family
visitation and service to be followed by burial in Christ the King
Cemetery, Trenton. In lieu of flowers donations in Alex’s memory made
be made to Aberdeen Palliative Care Society. Arrangements have been
entrusted to R.H. Porter Funeral Home, Trenton.
