Passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at the age of 99. Widowed since 1998 after the death of her loving husband Robin James Blackwell. Beloved mother of Brian Robin Blackwell and his friend Gloria of Vancouver, BC and Gary Craig Blackwell of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, USA. Grandmother to Holly and her family, Josh, Abigail and Beatrice Hergesheimer of Vancouver BC and Heidi and her family Tristan, Piper, Banjo and Percival Nitschke of Meandarra, Australia. Aldonna was a sister to Doris (Wilson Forbes), Glen and Anne, both deceased, and to Fred (deceased (Helen) of Port Elgin ON. Aldonna also had an infant sister Florence (deceased). Predeceased by her parents, Elda Mae and Sylvester Simon Wuerth, from Crediton ON. Predeceased by all of the Blackwell sisters and brothers-in-law. Aunt Aldonna will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews and their families. Two of the loves of Aldonna’s life, after her husband and family, were music and sports, especially hockey. She belonged to choirs in Crediton, Listowel, West Monkton and Caledonia. She joined the St. Paul’s Anglican Church Choir in 1960 and was a charter member of the Haldimand Choralairs and sang with them from 1964 to 2011. Aldonna always appreciated the care and kindness that she received from her care givers and her family and church friends, and we wish to express a special thank you to each and every one of them for all of their assistance and the loving care that was shown to our mother. Visitation will take place in the MILLER FUNERAL CHAPEL, Caledonia, on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. followed by a service in St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Caledonia, on Thursday, April 18 at 11 a.m. Interment in Caledonia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Paul’s Anglican Church would be appreciated by the family.
