William Bill Deacon Wednesday April 17th 2019

On Wednesday April 17, 2019 William (Bill) R. Deacon, loving husband of Jeanette Deacon, passed away peacefully at Northview Nursing Home in Englehart.
He was born in South Porcupine on July 12, 1930 to Elsie and Wilfred (Jimmy) Deacon. He worked for the Ontario Northland Railway for 40 years. On September 30, 1950 Bill married Jeanette Froment in Noranda, Quebec. They raised one son, Jim and one daughter, Donna Parnell.
Bill volunteered in the community throughout most of his life. He was given the Englehart Citizen of the Year award in 1997. He was active in the Holy Trinity Church and Knights of Columbus.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and all of his 9 siblings. He is survived by Jeanette, Jim (Caliesha Stewart) and Donna, 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, plus numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
In keeping with Bill’s wishes, he has been cremated. He did not want a funeral service. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in his memory to the Englehart Food Bank or charity of your choice.
