It is with great sadness that the family of Walter Girsberger announce his passing on March 1, 2019.
He was surrounded by the love of his family.
Born and raised in Switzerland, He started his career with being an auto mechanic and owning his own shop. In the early 70’s he came to Canada on a fishing trip and decided he wanted to move to Canada. In 1979 he immigrated to Canada with his wife Kathrin, and children, Cornelia and Marco. 3 years later his daughter Tanya was born. When he immigrated to Canada he started working in the logging industry and later on he was owner/operator of his own gravel truck.
Walter was predeceased by his parents Walter and Rosa, his sister Therese, brother-in-law, Werner and sister-in-law, Maya.
Walter is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years Kathrin Girsberger, a son, Marco (Emma), 2 daughters; Cornelia (Jason) & Tanya (Hamish) & his beloved grandchildren, Bentley & Haiden, Brad, Jay & Eva. He also is survived by his 2 brothers; Bruno & Willi & 3 sisters, Rosli, Christa & Helen and their families in Switzerland.
The Family would like to heartfully thank Dr. James Grace and the Nurses on the 3rd floor for their compassionate care of Walter.
There will be no Service by request.
