Ronald “Ronnie” Henry Matchett
1949-2019
Ronald “Ronnie” Henry Matchett, husband of Carmel (Foran) Matchett of Sunny Corner, NB, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at the age of 69.
Born in Sunny Corner, NB on March 6th, 1949, son of the late Charles and Kathleen (Harris) Matchett.
Family, trucks, fishing and hunting were his passion.
Trucking was his life and he retired after 30 years as a D.O.T. operator.
He loved his summers at the camp with family and friends where he also loved to fish and hunt.
Always a friendly face when visitors arrived.
Besides his wife Carmel of 48 years, he is survived by four sons: Jeffery (Kathy) of Sunny Corner, Christopher (Debbie) of Strathadam, Richard (Tanya) of Sunny Corner and Matthew (Janice) of Whitney. Grandchildren: Logan, Ty, Cole, Aydan and Taylor; Brothers: Wayne (Edith) and Doug (Suzanne) all of Boom Road, NB; and several nieces and nephews.
Ronald is predeceased by two brothers: Clark (Shirley) and Frederick (Faye).
Visitation will be held at Meadows Funeral Home 150 Northwest Road, Sunny Corner on Wednesday from 7-9 PM and Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
The Funeral Service will be held from Meadows Funeral Home Chapel on Friday @ 11 AM with Pastor Vincent Somers officiating.
Burial will take place in the St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church Cemetery, Red Bank later in the spring.
In Ronnie’s memory a donation may be made to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
