Richard Michael “Rick” Anstey of Medicine Hat, dearly loved husband of Marilyn Anstey, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, March 13th, 2019 at the age of 66 years. Along with Marilyn, he is survived by his loving children, Stephen, Ryan, and Nicole; grandchildren, Brayden, Harrison, Sofie, and Ellis; brother, Cyril; sister, Marguerite; and numerous nieces and nephews. Rick was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother who lent most of his life to helping others. He was deeply involved in the church, and volunteered his time to hockey and soccer between Alberta, PEI, and Newfoundland. He will be profoundly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Vigil Rites will be held at Saamis Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 1Z5, on Monday, March 18th, 2019 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, 238 – 2nd Avenue NE Medicine Hat, AB T1A 5Z9, on Tuesday, March 19th, 2019 at 10:30 am with Father Tomy Manjaly, Celebrant. The interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Memorial gifts in Richard’s’s memory may be made to the Alberta Heart & Stroke Foundation, 200, 119 – 14th Street NW, Calgary, AB T1A 7L5 or St. Joseph’s Home, 156 – 3rd Street NE, Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 5M1.   2. My heartful sympathy to Rick’s family. I worked with Rick and enjoyed my time with him, he was always there to lend a hand and share a laugh. I was deeply saddened to here the sad days.   9. So sorry to hear of Rick passing, sincere condolences to his family. I grew up with Rick in Grand Falls and met up with him a few years ago just after he retired, I hadn’t seen him in approx. 50 years but recognized him so khans facial features didn’t change much!
