Max Richardson
1953-2019
It is with great sadness that the family of Max Richardson
are announcing his sudden passing on March 25, 2019.
Max was born in Worthington, Missouri on April 18, 1953 to
the late Willia and Berdean Richardson. He had many wonderful memories
growing up and working on his parents’ farm. Max maintained
close lifelong relationships with his high school classmates from
Schuyler County R-1 High School class of 1971. After graduation, he
enlisted in the US Army, serving 4 years, then returned home to study
at Northeast Missouri State University.
His early working years were spent as an auditor with
Georgia-Pacific Building Supplies. He was able to travel the country
doing this work and it was while performing an audit at
Georgia-Pacific in Moncton, NB, that he met and married Mary Beverly
Brehaut of Newcastle on December 27, 1980. Shortly after
their marriage Max left his beloved country (USA) to immigrate to
Canada where he studied law at Dalhousie University. When his study
was completed, they moved to Fredericton NB where he practiced law
until shortly before his death. During their life together they raised
two boys. Max was extremely proud of Andrew and Bradley and the
wonderful men they became. When his grandson Sawyer William was born
his exuberance could not be hidden. Although he never had the
opportunity to meet his second grandchild Eli Maxwell, he was for the
second time, an extremely proud Grampie who greatly looked forward to
their FaceTime.
Max was well known for his sharp sense of humour and was a
knowledgeable and versed conversationalist. He had a unique
sense of fashion, especially hats, that left none wondering if there
was still any country left in the man. He cherished his time
with family and passed on this virtue.
Left to mourn Max’s passing is Mary, his wife of 39
years; his sons Andrew (Katee) of Halifax, NS and Bradley (Kendra) and
their children Sawyer William and Eli Maxwell of Manhattan, Kansas.
Also surviving are his sisters Mary Lee (Paul) Bailey of
Queen City, Missouri and Jean Ellen Richardson of Columbia,
Missouri. He is also survived by several nieces and
nephews.
A visitation will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home
on Friday, April 5 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm. A funeral service
will take place at the Rusagonis Baptist Church on Saturday, April 6
at 2:00 with the Rev. Brent MacDonald officiating. For those who wish,
donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of
the donor’s choice.
