It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary Ann Campbell (Andrews) (nee Lietch) on February 15, 2019. She is survived by her four sons: Terry, Dale, Lorne, and Aaron, eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, sister Lorraine, brothers Ray and Ken and many nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her parents Ella and Albert Lietch, brother Sam, husbands Bud Andrews and Lawrence Campbell and daughter-in-law Karen Andrews.
Mary was born in Shamrock, SK, and moved to Moose Jaw, SK, when she was a young girl. It was in Moose Jaw where Mary met and eventually married Bud Andrews, in 1948. For many years she lived the life of a hockey wife moving to various cities within the United States and Canada. Mary and Bud eventually settled in Trail, BC, where they raised their family. She and Bud were married for 36 years until Bud’s passing in 1984. Mary met Lawrence Campbell and they married in 1992. They traveled and camped extensively throughout Canada, and toured through Europe on different occasions. Mary and Lawrence enjoyed 10 years together until his passing.
Mary worked for many years in downtown Trail at Grays Apparel, and then at The Bay until her retirement. Upon retiring Mary was very active for several years working for the hospital auxiliary, where she was well known for making creative aprons. The Trail United Church was important to Mary where she spent many years helping in the kitchen after church functions. Mary enjoyed fine needlework, knitting sweaters, toques and quilting. Gardening was also a passion for Mary, which she shared with her children. She often had many gardening projects on the go, with Roses and Lilies being her favourite. Mary was also highly skilled in cooking and sewing, which she shared generously, much to the delight of her family and friends.
The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff at Rose Wood Village, and the doctors, nurses and staff at Columbia Family Medicine clinic for their care given to Mary.
A family service will be held in the summer. Bill Clark of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
