Obituary of Marie Jane Sponagle
Marie J. Sponagle, 80 of Avonport passed away on March 17, 2019 in the Valley Regional Hospital. Born in Melanson, she was the daughter of the late John and Jessie (Schofield) Oickle of Hants Border.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Roland; daughters Waydee (Blaine) Harris of Greenfield; Tanya (Ronald) LeBlanc of Cambridge; Rhonda (Colin) Duncanson of Hortonville; Joanne (David) Harris of Avonport; brother Brian (Betty) Oickle of Hantsport; grandchildren Keegan Harris, Colton Harris, Casey Harris, Sara Sponagle, Samantha Sponagle; nephews Wayne (Meghan), Mark (Jen), Steven (Michelle) all of Hantsport.
Besides her parents, Marie was predeceased by her sister Iona Coldwell of Hants Border.
Cremation has taken place, and by Marie’s request there will be no visitation nor reception. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at 1:00 pm in the Avonport Baptist Church, 508 Oak Island Road, Avonport. Family Flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or Charity of One’s Choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Wolfville Funeral Chapel, 568 Main Street, Wolfville, B4P 1E5 (902-542-4656).
