Lottie Penner was born September 7, 1923 to John I and Margaret Penner at Kleefeld, MB. She peacefully passed away the evening of Monday, March 11, 2019.
Mom was baptized as a young girl in Kleefeld, MB. She remained faithful to the end.
When Dad proposed, she had recently lost her mother, so her father thought it was best that she remain at home to care for her younger siblings. A year later on May 2, 1943, she was married to David W. Penner at Kleefeld, MB.
Mom’s Christian life was important to her and her faithfulness was an example to us. In 1946 Dad was ordained into the ministry. Mom unselfishly supported him as he served in the church.
She courageously did her duties helping us children even when Dad was gone weeks at a time.
In 1980, Dad & Mom moved to Norquay, SK. Dad passed away in 1990, leaving Mom lonely and often wondering where her place in life was.
In 2010, Mom moved to Maplewood Manor where she lived till her passing.
She leaves to morn four sons and three daughters: Floyd & Esther, Beausejour, MB., Rena & Reg Penner, Steinbach, MB., Jenneth & Wes Penner, Bredenbury, SK., Jerry & Leonora, Beausejour, MB., Ethel Barkman, Steinbach, MB., Wayne & Bonnie, Steinbach, MB., Verle & Val, Norquay, SK., Peter Barkman, Norquay, SK., 38 grandchildren, 107 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, one brother David & Adeline, one sister Lorene & Alfred Isaac, and one sister-in-law Irene Penner.
Mom was predeceased by her husband, one granddaughter, two great-grandchildren, her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
A come & go visitation will be held Friday, March 15, 2019 at 7:00 – 8:30 p.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.
The funeral will be held Monday, March 18, 2019 10:30 a.m., at the Northstar Mennonite Church, Hyas, SK., with interment at the church cemetery.
