John passed away peacefully at Freeport Hospital on Friday, March 1, 2019 at the age of 78. John will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his parents Alexander and Emily and siblings Donalda Hudlet (Schaus), Emily Finney (Williams), Robert, Arnold and Hugh. John spent his early years working on the family farm in Cambridge. In 1973 he began his 35 year career as an appliance technician at Metro Karges. He was a long-time member of the Army & Navy Club on Gage Ave. in Kitchener where he enjoyed playing pool and socializing with friends. Special thanks to the caring nurses and doctors at Grand River Hospital (Freeport and Grand River Campuses). A Memorial Service will be held at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467 on Friday, March 8, 2019 at 3:00 pm. Reception to follow. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Alzheimer Society or Grand River Hospital Foundation would be appreciated (cards available at the funeral home).
