John Cecil Davies March 23 2019

It is with heavy hearts the family of John Cecil Davies announce his peaceful passing on Saturday March 23, 2019 at the St. John & St. Stephen Nursing Home. Born April of 1942 in Saint John, he was the son of the late Arthur and Doris (Hannah) Davies. John enjoyed a lengthy career at the Saint John Exhibition Park Raceway training race horses and was known around the track as “Big John”. He was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan and loved watching Harness Racing.
John is survived by his loving wife, Suzanne (Small) Davies; his daughter Joanne (Shawn Harrison), his son Christopher (Emily); stepdaughter Dr. Catherine Forestell (Shaun Strippel) of Williamsburg, Virginia; precious grandsons Tyler and Michael and step-granddaughter Shea Strippel of Virginia; his twin sister Diane Stevenson of Delaware, US as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brother David.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of the St. John & St. Stephen Nursing Home for the wonderful care John received during his stay there.
Although there will be no funeral service, visitation will be held at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road on Tuesday March 26, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the SPCA Animal Rescue.
