Obituary of Ilene Emans
Emans, Ilene Margaret (nee Sloan)
A resident of London, formerly of Chatham, Ilene Margaret Emans (nee Sloan) died peacefully at age 97 on Thursday January 10th 2019 at the London Health Sciences Centre – Victoria Hospital.
She is the wife of the late Donald Victor (Scotty) Emans (2005).
Ilene is survived by her children Karen (Rob) Bedford of B.C., Scott (Pat) Emans of B.C., Sue (Paul) Tite of London and Cathy (Ken) Young of Peterborough.
Grandmother of Robbie (Lindsey) of Alberta, Brian (Jess) of Peterborough, Jennie of Alberta and Nicky (Dave) of Cavan.
Great-grandmother of Charlotte, Scott and Robbie.
Ilene is survived by her sister in law Betty (late Bill/late Mary Ann).
Pre-deceased by her brother Douglas (late Louise), brothers in law Myles (late Muriel), Steve (late Barbara).
Ilene is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Ilene was one of the original members of Maple City Country Club in Chatham, a member of the IODE (Flying Officer Austin Wright Chapter), and active in The McKeough Public School Home and School Association. Ilene retired as a secretary with the Chatham Board of Education.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham at 11:00 am with Visitation from 10:00 am until Service Time. Burial to take place in Maple Leaf Cemetery.
As per the families wishes and due to allergies, the family request there are no flowers in memory of Ilene. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Social Services Daily Bread (food bank) at The Cathedral Church of Saint Paul, London, Ontario or War Amps welcomed.
