Obituary of Gladys L. (Ash) Slade
Passed suddenly away surrounded by her loving family at the Carbonear General Hospital on Thursday, March 7, 2019, Gladys L. (Ash) Slade of Victoria, age 67 years. Predeceased by parents: Tom and Edith Ash. Leaving to mourn, husband: John; two daughters: Rebecca ‘Becky’ (Michael) Whiteway and Amanda (Don) Rogers, both of Victoria; one son: Johnny (Pam), Ochre Pit Cove; three grandchildren: Jack (Rebecca), Asha (Des), and Jessie; two brothers: Georgie (Sylvia) Button, Lead Cove and Tom (Marcella) Ash, Victoria; two sisters: Winnifred (Bram) Pilgrim and Peg Ash, both of Carbonear; special cousin: Margaret and special niece: Jackie, both of Ontario; beloved dog: Holly; also a large number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel’s Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Friday, 7:30 to 9:00 p.m., Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral service to take place on Sunday, March 10 at 2:00 p.m. from the Salvation Army Citadel, Carbonear. Cremation to follow. As an expression of sympathy, flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the Baccalieu Trail SPCA, P.O. Box 273, Carbonear, NL, A1Y 1B7.
