M. Frances “Fran” Sharkey (nee Poirier)
1935-2019
Peacefully at the Queen
Elizabeth Hospital on Friday, March 29, 2019 of Fran Sharkey of
Summerside age 83 years.
Beloved wife of the late
Bob Sharkey. Dear mother of Beverly Montgomery
(deceased), Norine Sharkey (Rob Broderick) , Dawn (David) Moase,
Brian, Edward (Kelley), Mary Ellen (Kevin) Gallant, Blair (Judy), Dean
( Rena) and Diane Sharkey. Proud and loving “Meme” to Krista
(Jeff Rogers), Cody (Beth) Montgomery, Colin (Sarah) Montgomery,
Travis Sharkey (Samantha), Brady and Kathryn Gallant, Jacob and Emma
Sharkey, Zachary Sharkey, Bryanna Sharkey, Brooke and Jessica Sharkey,
and great grandmother of Tyler, Hailey, Olivia, Hannah and Isaac. Fran
is also lovingly remembered by her brothers Bob (Pauline) Poirier,
John (Louise) Poirier, Mark Poirier , son-in-law Billy Montgomery,
sister-in-law Ann Poirier, and many nieces and nephews. Beside her
husband Bob and daughter Bev she was also predeceased by her parents
Edward and Alice (Downing) Poirier, brother Peter Poirier, sister Mae
(Ernie) O’Brien, father and mother-in-law Amil and Alice
Rose (Torgerson) Sharkey and brother-in-law Gerry.
Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside until
Wednesday, then transferred to St. Paul’s Church, Summerside
for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m Interment later in St. Paul’s
Parish Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 to
8:00 p.m.
