HEAD, Donna Marilyn Annie of Comfort Cove, NL passed away on March 26, 2019 at the age of 64 years. Predeceased by her parents, Edgar and Nina Head, and brothers, Overton and Bob. She leaves to mourn her sister, Dolores; brothers, Wylie (Gladys) and Lloyd (Janesta), of Comfort Cove, and sister, Maxine (Harry) of Mount Pearl, along with her nieces and nephews.
Donna was born with Down Syndrome and was the most friendly and loving person to all who knew her. She was known to all in her community and to many elsewhere. She attended the Calypso School in Lewisporte for 35 years. Next to her family she loved going to school where she made many friends and took part in many of the programs the school offered including travelling to many places within the area and on school trips at the end of the school year. Shortly after developing dementia and losing mobility, Donna has lived at North Haven Manor, Lewisporte for the past 2 years. Our thanks and appreciation go out to the staff at North Haven for their expertise and for taking such good and loving care of our very special sister. Donna was such a special part of our family; we will miss her always.
Public visitation will take place from Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, Lewisporte on Thursday, March 28th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The Funeral Service will take place from The United Church, Campbellton, NL on Friday, March 29th at 2 PM. Interment to follow at the United Church Cemetery, Comfort Cove, NL. In lieu of flowers, a donation in remembrance of Donna can be made to the North Haven Manor Recreation Fund, 21 Centennial Dr., Lewisporte, NL, A0G 3A0 (709)535-8219.
