David’s Obituary
Dave was born in Kirkland Lake, ON and the family soon after moved to Lenswood, MB. His mother and father owned the general store there for 50+ years. Many of us know the pride Dave held for their legacy. He held many fond memories of his time spent in Lynn Lake, MB and still keeps in touch with friends made there. In 1983, Dave made his way to Red Lake and Red Lake became home. He made many friends here with his quiet ways that spoke louder than any words could say. He really enjoyed hearing people’s stories shared with him as he repaired appliances in their homes, along with the pride he took in his work life Dave loved fishing, curling, cooking, dancing and a beer or two when needed, In 1995 down at government dock at the Fall Classic, Cupid pulled back his bow when he and Lorna got together. He introduced her to fishing and she was his life-time keeper. Their family was complete when he became a grandfather to Maddox. In February 2016, Lorna reeled in Dave when they took the plunge and were married. Dave has left us far far too early and we will miss him like no one will ever know. His quiet words and ways were our strength.
As per Dave’s wishes, no funeral service will be held.
There will be a gathering for friends and family on Sunday, February 24th, 2019 at the Super 8 Hotel from 1 pm to 3 pm
Donations in his memory may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation through the Red Lake Chapel, Box 237, Red Lake, ON P0V 2M0
