Obituary of Beverly-Anne Adams
Died peacefully, surrounded by her family, at St. Mary’s Hospital, on March 10, 2019 at the age of 85.
Mother of Terry Simmons, Peter Folliott, Laura (Michael) Archibald, Nancy (Steve) Jacobi, and Alan (Kristine) Folliott.
Wife to the late Bill Adams and Larry Folliott.
‘Nanny’ of Nathan and Adam; Sarah and Jonathan; Tara, Lee, and Mac; Jessica, James, Michelle and Brianna; Great-grandmother of Grayson, Rachel, Kadence, Kaylee, William, Megan, Lucas, Caleb and Stella.
Mom was also Aunt to Dana, Marc, Leslie, Paul and Marcie.
Survived by her sister Bonnie (Bob) Dechene and sister-in-law Susan Bardwell.
Predeceased by her parents Verda and Horace Bardwell and brother George Bardwell.
Mom was born and raised in Galt, Ontario and raised her children in Waterloo. She had a passion for politics and was a lifelong Liberal. She owned her own flower shop in Waterloo. As an artist, Bev was extremely creative, whether it was painting, crafts or sewing. When Mom was married to Bill Adams, they shared a love of wiener dogs and travelling – in that order. They also spent several winters in Arizona.
Mom’s life became more complicated as dementia set in and although emotionally painful for all, we tried to find the humour. Re-uniting with Dad took the cake. Her sense of humour stayed intact, despite her decline. She loved dancing and could ‘shake, shake, shake’ until the end.
Thanks to the front-line staff in the Downey neighbourhood at The Village at University Gates. Mom’s family is grateful for the excellent care given by the nurses, in her final days, at St. Mary’s Hospital. Donations are to a charity of choice or just hug a Mom today.
