Basil Parker Buddo O'Brien Jr 19702019 avis de deces

Basil Parker “Buddo” O’Brien Jr.
1970-2019
It is with tremendous sadness that we
announce the sudden passing of Basil Parker O’Brien
Jr., 48 of Springhill, N.S. on March 22, 2019. Born in
Saint John, N.B. on November 9, 1970 he was the son of the late Basil
O’Brien Sr. of Springhill, N.S. and Viola (Hilden) O’Brien of St John,
N.B.
Also known as Bud but to most as Buddo,
he was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. A
mechanic by trade, he spent the past 25 years residing and working in
Toronto, ON where he was closer to his son before moving back to
Springhill to be closer to his mother and family. He painted condos,
did minor carpentry work as well as heavy lifting and moving. He was a
natural jack of all trades.
Bud enjoyed spending time with his
family and friends, working on vehicles of any kind, tinkering around
the yard and listening to music. He could sing along to any song
whether country, rock, r & b, or rap. Bud enjoyed anything
involving family; whether a bonfire, biking, kayaking or just hanging
out and laughing.
Although their paths eventually parted,
the love between Bud and the mother of his son was strong, eternal,
and forever. He was her soul and together they created a beautiful son
where over the years they remained best friends and
family.
His son Thane has fond memories of his
dad teaching him to ride a bicycle, and how to fish. He will forever
remember their deep conversations over the years and knows how much
his dad loved and adored him. He will live on forever as a part of him
and inside us all.
Besides the love for his only son;
‘Uncle Bud’ adored his two nieces Felicia and Lacey O’Brien,
two nephews Joshua Shephard and Michael O’Brien, and newest addition
his great-niece Moyrah (O’Brien) Hicks who will forever remember his
warm loving hugs, infectious laugh, and tormenting nature as well as
the lifetime of memories we shared. He never ever ended a visit or
conversation without telling us how much he loved
us.
He shared an incredible bond with his
brother Mike where words just aren’t enough to describe the
endless memories, laughs, and secrets that have been shared between
the two as best friends over the years as well as an everlasting love
from his mother and sister.
Bud was predeceased by his father Basil
O’Brien Sr. but is survived by his mother Viola (Hilden) O’Brien, his
son Thane O’Brien, brother Mike O’Brien (Debbie Cvitkovich), sister
Shannon Shephard-O’Brien (Francois Robichaud), nieces Felicia (Aaron
Hicks) and Lacey O’Brien, nephews Joshua Shephard and Michael O’Brien,
great niece Moyrah Hicks(O’Brien), God parents Son & Sue
Brine as well as many more close family and friends. He will
be missed tremendously by his family, friends, ex-wife Lorna Pitter,
good friend Rhonda Armour and all who were close with
him.
It was Bud’s wishes for no
funeral, viewing or service but to donate his body for the Advancement
of Medical Education and Research to the Human Donation Program in the
dept of Neuroscience at Dalhousie University but due to the nature of
his passing his family is unable to do so but will continue to fulfill
the remainder of his requests. The family will be having a celebration
of life in his honour at a later date.
Arrangements are under the care and
direction of A H Brown Funeral Home, 5
McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902-597-2361).
If you wish to make a donation in his
memory please do so to a charity of your choice or can do so to the
family who are taking care of his arrangements.
