Arthur Art Evans May 7th 1934 March 19th 2019

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Art Evans on March 19, 2019, at 84 years of age. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Irene of 65 years; sons Terry, Larry (Deb), and Wayne (Cathy); daughter Barbara (Ken); grandchildren Scott, Riley (Amber), Steve (Erin), Leia (Ty), Kirk, Kyle, Amy, Zach, Dan (Erin), and Joey; as well as great-grandchildren Zander, Lincoln and Elena. Art was predeceased by his parents Llewelyn and Margaret and his brothers Llewelyn and Lester. He is survived by his brother Robert (Bob) and many nieces and nephews. Art loved his sports, especially fishing, hockey, golf and shuffleboard. He will be remembered as a founding member of the Saskatchewan Shuffleboard Association. His achievements included two Canadian Championships (doubles 1968 and singles 1974) with many Provincial titles. In 2007 he was inducted into the Canadian Shuffleboard Congress Hall of Fame, recognized as a founder, player, mentor and teacher. He was a Regina Pats season ticket holder for 40 years. Art was born in Edmonton, Alberta. His work in Management with Met Stores took him to many cities across Western Canada. He loved his career change when he transitioned to work with the Saskatchewan Department of Highways where he retired in 1994. We wish to thank the staff at Homecare, Pioneer Village Adult Day Program, the General Hospital Cardiac Unit and Parkside Extendicare for their great care, dedication, and support for Art. To abide by Art’s wishes, there will be no funeral or service. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Arthur Art Evans May 7th 1934 March 19th 2019..
