Peacefully passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Parkwood Palliative Care, London. Wife of Dr. Kenneth Shelstad. Mother of Stephen Shelstad (Susan), Karen Shelstad (Brian), and Megan Shelstad (Sean). Predeceased by her daughter Sandra Towler and husband David. Grandmother of Naomi Shelstad (Michael) and Samuel Shelstad (Katie). Great-grandmother of Benjamin Prevost. Also predeceased by her sister Kathleen and her brothers Arthur, Hugh, and David. Muriel was a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan and certified as an Associate of the Royal Conservatory of Music (ARCT). She was a piano teacher for many years. Muriel was kind to everyone, loving and generous. There will be a private family service at a later date. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Society London and Middle would be appreciated.
