Scott Smith
1951-2019
SMITH SCOTT – At his residence in St Andrews, peacefully passed
away, in the presence of his family, close friends and special
grand-cat, Theodore Roosevelt. Scott Smith, husband of Marie
(Beaufield) Smith, was born in St. Anthony NL, the son of the late
John & Anna (Dawe) Smith.
Scott worked as the Director of Human Resources with Grenfell
Regional Health Services in St Anthony until he retired in 2005. Upon
retiring he bought a house in St Andrews, and he divided his time
between NL and NB, allowing him to spend equal time with his
girls.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Marie, are his three daughters
Lee Smith-Powell (Frank) of St. Andrews, NB, Lynn Rumbolt (Shawn) of
St. Anthony, NL, and Krista Armstrong (Mike Goodyear) of Calgary, AB;
three granddaughters; Hannah Rumbolt, Emma Rumbolt, and Erika Powell,
step father, John Shenk of Lancaster, Penn, U.S.A., many relatives
and friends. Scott was blessed to have had his brother in law, Guy
Beaufield, and sister in law, Juanita Beaufield, whom he referred to
as an angel, move in and help care for him over the past four months.
Their love and devotion allowed Scott to remain at home during his
illness.
Scott was predeceased by his brother, Perry Johnson, and his
biological mother, Dorothy Shenk.
Thank you to Archdeacon John Matheson, for the many prayers and
words of comfort and thank you to Theresa McLeod, RN, for the
exceptional care, kindness and compassion.
By Scott’s request cremation will take place. There will be
no service at this time. His family will take him to his place of rest
to be buried with his parents, John and Anna, in the Anglican Church
Cemetery in Raleigh, NL, this summer.
For those who wish, a donation to the Charlotte County SPCA or
the Charles S Curtis Memorial Hospital Auxiliary (St Anthony, NL)
would be greatly appreciated by the family. On line condolences to the
family or donations can be made at www.humphreysfh.com
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care & direction of
