Robert Dennis Waterstreet December 26th 2018 avis de deces

Rob was the first of 5 children born to Denis and Norma Waterstreet. He was born in Trail, BC and grew up in Salmo. He loved sports and pushing the boundaries during his youth. He married Peggy Osborne in 1978 and they had three children Derek, Mitsi and Blair. Rob and Peggy went their separate ways in 1991, they remained friends and were able to both attend many special family occasions.
Rob lived in Elkford for many years working at Fording Coal, then he moved to Kimberly and began working away from home (many different locations – Houston, Alaska, Vancouver Island and many more) following in his fathers’ footsteps as a driller. While working in Chetwynd he had the opportunity to live with and train Blair as a driller. When Rob was home from camps, he enjoyed the outdoors and visiting with family and friends. He enjoyed travelling when his health allowed it, he went to Jamaica and then Rob and Dianne MacLeod, who spent many years together, went south in the US a few times where, on one trip, he learned, the hard way, that he was allergic to Banana Boat sunscreen, he never forgot that experience! Rob and Dianne enjoyed socializing with their friends.
He loved to fish and there are many pictures and stories about mishaps on the river, like when Mitsi almost got away from him down the Kimberly River. His children have a love of the outdoors and no doubt that is a legacy, at least partially, due to Rob. He loved watching his children and then grandchildren play sports, from gymnastics, basketball, football and then mainly hockey, when watching hockey games in Trail or Beaver Valley, with about 10 minutes left in a very interesting game Derek would get a tap on the shoulder “hey order me some Chinese food to pick up on my way home”, Derek would get on his phone, place the order, the game would end and then Rob would say “great game eh?” Derek would have missed the end but would laugh and say, “yeah dad it was, are you coming to tomorrow’s game?”.
For the past many years Rob dealt with many health issues and was unable to work, he spent many hours travelling between doctors and hearing “you are a complicated case!”, he never did things the easy way.
He was predeceased by his father Denis Waterstreet in 2008 and is survived by his mother Norma Waterstreet; his children and grandchildren: Derek (Dara) – Kendra and Jaxson, Mitsi – Jonah, Seth and Shaymus, Blair – Phoenix and Mason; 4 siblings Alan (Janice), Pat (Janet), Michelle (Ian) Mitchell, Jacquie (Henry) Huser and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, many aunts, uncles and cousins, Dianne MacLeod and her children Catherine Babakaiff – Owen and Amy, Micheal – Katie, Mac and Gavin – who all will remember him as “funnyman”.
Rob’s family will be holding a Celebration of Life in the summer.
It must be love
Where it is that we come from,
It shall be that we go,
What happens in between is like the seeds that we sow,
We live and we grow,
The hardest part is letting go.
RIP Rob
You were loved and will be missed by many

Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Robert Dennis Waterstreet December 26th 2018..
