SKELTON: Muriel
At Goderich, Ontario on Monday, February 11, 2019. Alice Muriel Skelton (nee Ribey) of Goderich in her 107th year. Beloved wife of the late Frank Skelton. Dear mother and mother-in-law of Fred and Shirley Skelton of London, Sylvia and Clare Harman of the Nile, Robert Skelton of Goderich and Cindy Skelton of Edmonton, Alberta. Treasured grandmother of Steve, Susan (Dave), Paul, Kent, Brett (Natalie), Angela (Ivan) and Jana (Jay); great-grandmother of Sarah, Shane, Stacey, Ryan, Connor, Haleigh, Remy and Kaden; great-great-grandmother of Blair. Loved and missed by her nieces and nephew. Predeceased by her son Ron, daughters-in-law Marilyn and Linda, four sisters Dorothy Fletcher, Esther Burr, Lois Fletcher, Mae Furey and a very dear grandson Frank Jeffrey Skelton. Muriel was born in Blanshard Township, Ontario, the youngest of five children to Agnes and Thomas Ribey. After marriage, she moved to Goderich where she and her husband were actively involved in the business community. She was a charter member of the Goderich Kinnette Club and enjoyed the work and sociability it afforded. She served in different offices including that of President of the Club. She always appreciated the beauty of the town, especially the sunsets over Lake Huron. A Memorial Service will be held at Falconer Funeral Homes – Bluewater Chapel, 201 Suncoast Drive, East, Goderich and will be announced at a later date. Following cremation, spring interment of ashes at Maitland Cemetery, Goderich. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation would be appreciated.
