Joyce St-Cartier
1945-2019
ST-CARTIER, JOYCE
It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of our beloved
mother, wife, Nana and sister,
Joyce St-Cartier (Nee Tonelli) on Tuesday, February 5th. She passed
away peacefully in her
sleep at the age of 74. Born January 13th, 1945 in Timmins, Ontario to
Nello Tonelli and Vivian
Tonelli (Nee Bolski) (both predeceased). Predeceased by her older
brother Gary Tonelli (Wife
Gina). Survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Ray, daughter Lisa
Osipenko, sons Darcy
Osipenko (wife Julie) and Rick St-Cartier and five grandsons whom she
adored – Aiden, Sean,
Cameron, Erik and Dylan. She is survived by her younger sister Judi
Slattery (husband Jack).
Joyce is also survived by many brothers and sisters-in law – Diane and
Hans Lohuis, Ron
St-Cartier, Paul and Sharon St-Cartier, Mark and Denise St-Cartier,
Denise and Don Guenette,
Maggie Wakeford and Ion and Bob St-Cartier (predeceased), as well as
many nieces and
nephews.
She lived most of her life in Timmins and settled in Cambridge,
Ontario in 2011 with her
husband Ray, to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She led
an active life volunteering
with her Church and community and spending as much time as she could
with her children and
grandchildren. Joyce was an active member of her Church Parish of St.
Patrick’s, as well as an
active member of the Cursillo Movement for the past 30 years. One of
Joyce’s passions was her
work with Saint Vincent De Paul, helping the needy and less
fortunate.
She was such a beautiful woman who brought such joy, love, warmth and
kindness to anyone
and everyone who had the blessing of knowing her. Joyce had a
wonderful sense of humour
and the most joyous laugh. Her smile would light up a room, with a
twinkle in her beautiful green
eyes. Her love was boundless and her faith was strong. She was our
angel here on earth and
now God has called her home to be our angel in the heavens. Her
passing has left a hole in the
hearts of those who knew her, but we take comfort in knowing that she
is watching over us.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to Saint
Vincent De Paul, St. Patrick’s
Parish, Cambridge, Ontario.
