Obituary of Ian Ross
Ian Herbert Ross, 89 of Park Street, Kentville died peacefully on the morning of January 31, 2019, surrounded by his family. He was born in Blackpool, England on June 4, 1929 to parents Archibald Ruddiman and Anne (Dolan) Ross.
He pursued a career with the R.A.M.C. in England and Germany and then continued with a civilian career as a laboratory technologist, immigrating to Nova Scotia in 1967 with his family. He worked as the Chief Lab Technician in the Blanchard Fraser Hospital for twenty years.
Ian was an avid reader, excellent chess player, he enjoyed bird-watching, reading, sharing books cartography and sailing.
Ian was the father of and survived by son Neil; daughters Alison, Sian, Helen, Claire, Lindsey and Beth; grandfather to eight grandsons, four granddaughters and many great-grandchildren; and third wife Christine (Hiltz) Ross.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister Anne (died in infancy) and brother Malcolm.
Ian will be happily remembered.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 4, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the St. John’s Anglican Church, Port Williams with a reception to follow in the church hall. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4P 1B9 (902-679-2822).
