Florence (Terris) MacPherson
1925-2019
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of
Florence MacPherson who passed away
peacefully on February 12, 2019 at Northumberland Hall, one day short
of her 94th birthday.
Florence was born and raised in
Springhill. She was the daughter of the late John (Jack) and
Mary Florence (Delaney) Terris. She is survived by her
loving family Janice (Don) Carter, Barbara (John) Prentice, Michael
(Kim) MacPherson and daughter-in-law Cherry MacPherson, 10
grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren. She was predeceased
by husband Douglas MacPherson, son John MacPherson; brothers Ken, Tom,
Jim, Ralph, Edward (in infancy) and Carl; sisters Eldora, Marguerite
(Mutt) and Eileen. She was the last surviving member of her immediate
family.
She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother
and grandmother, a role model for her kids and grandkids, treating
everyone with unconditional love and kindness. She loved all
music and spent many hours listening to her radio and completing a
good crossword puzzle.
Florence was a member of St. Andrews
Wesley United Church and the UCW. In her earlier years
following High School, she worked at the Company Office in
Springhill. Following her marriage, her focus was in raising
her family. Florence enjoyed bowling, knitting,
sewing and spending summers at the cottage at Linden Beach.
She will be forever cherished by all who knew her.
Her family would like to extend their
appreciation to the staff at Northumberland Hall for their kindness
and wonderful care during her stay.
Arrangements have been made under the
care of A. H. Brown Funeral Home, 5
McFarlane Street, Springhill (902-597-2361) where visiting hours will
be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 1:00 pm followed by a
Celebration of Life service at 2:00 pm with Rev. Wayne McCarther
officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be
made to the Cancer Society or a charity of ones choice.
