Obituary
With love and sadness we announce that Elsie Hughes passed away early on Saturday morning February 9, 2019. She was in her 100th year, passing on just over three months before her 100th birthday. All who knew her will remember a sweet, loving, caring and family-focused woman. Her wonderfully positive nature endured right through to recent years when dementia finally took her from us. Elsie will be greatly missed by her children John Hughes (Robin), Anne Middleton (Bob), Brent Hughes (Laura) and Merle Carlton (Randy) along with 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
We take comfort knowing that Elsie’s faith in God has guided her to a wonderful place and joyful reunion with her husband John, her parents, brothers and all those she loved who have gone before her. Please direct any remembrances to an Alzheimer’s charity in Elsie’s name. Planning has started for a Celebration of Life on or about May 18, 2019, the day of Elsie’s 100th birthday. Join us in wishing Elsie well for her glorious journey forward.
