1929-2019
Pelley, Bessie Mae – Age 89 –
Sunnyville, Guysborough Co. It is with heavy hearts that we announce
the passing of our Dear loved one. Bessie passed away peacefully and
joyfully on Thursday, February 14, 2019 with her loving Family at her
side in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital,
Antigonish.
Bessie was predeceased by her husband, Stephen; her parents,
sister and brothers; son, Lawrence; daughters, Linda and Donalda;
step-grandson, Sterling.
Bessie leaves behind
to grieve her loving children, Gladys (Normand), Regina,
Gerald, Barbara, Jerome (Verna), Henry (Beverley), Merle
(Connie), Floyd (Beverly), Gary (Rita), Peter, Robert (Elizabeth),
Nancy (Terry) Dorrington, Darren, Colleen (Colynda), Michelle (Danny)
Dorrington and Angel (Curtis) Jordan; 29 grandchildren, 33
great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and
nephews. Brothers, Fraser, Halifax; Earl (Quenta), Dartmouth and
Lillian Desmond, Upper Big Tracadie.
Bessie
“Nan” was a wonderful Mother and a great friend. She
enjoyed family time and gatherings, and attending sports games at the
local school. Bessie could always be heard singing or humming her
hymns while baking, knitting, or at rest. Bessie had a giving heart.
Never did she ask or want for anything. She loved her Church and was a
faithful member of Sunnyville United Baptist Church. Bessie
“Nan” will be missed tremendously, but will hold our
hearts forever.
The Family would like to
thank Dr. Ranjini for her care, Continuing Care staff, and nurses at
Guysborough Memorial Hospital as well as the care she received from
St. Martha’s Hospital.
Viewing will
be held on Sunday, Feb. 17 from 5-8 p.m. and funeral service will take
place Monday, Feb. 18 at 2 p.m. all in Sunnyville United Baptist
Church with Pastor Clara Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in
Evergreen Cemetery, Guysborough. Memorial donations can be made to
Sunnyville United Baptist Church, Guysborough Memorial Hospital or
charity of choice. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Dennis
