Ronald’s Obituary
MORSE, Ronald Oakley ~ age 87, formerly of Bloomington, Annapolis County, passed away peacefully Monday, January 28, 2019 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born August 14, 1931 in Middleton, he was a son of the late Oakley and Mary (Robar) Morse. Ron’s career began at a young age as a janitor at Bloomington School; a custodian of Bloomington Church. He was a farm labourer, a woodsman and a labourer at Canadian Canners and Scotian Gold, Middleton. Ronald was a mechanic by trade at Ken Stronach’s Garage for 7 years; Connells Chrysler, Middleton for 9 years and Connell Motors for 15 years, finishing his career with his son Kevin at Morse Auto. He was the “go to mechanic” for his children and other family members whenever they had car trouble or needed advice. Ronald loved his family and was always happy to help them in any way he could. Ronald will be deeply missed by his children, Nancy (Ken) Hatt, Billtown; Linda Morse Sheehan, Middleton; Debbie Getchell, Nictaux; Terry (Donald) Melanson, Nictaux; Kathy (Jeff) Balcom, Nictaux; Stephen (Judy Adams), Nictaux; Maureen Dowling, Coldbrook; Rhonda Morse (Bobby Alders), South Alton; Kevin (Krista) Morse, Tremont; 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Joan (Tremayne) Martyn, Middleton; Sheila (Joe) Rhoddy, Bloomington; Marcia (Gerald) Hoare, Kentville; brother, Keith (Barb) Morse, Nictaux; brother-in-law, Al MacGregor, Middleton. Besides his parents, Ronald was predeceased by his wife, Hilda “Pauline”(Pryde); a child in infancy; sister Vera Jane Morse in infancy; sister Elaine and his brother Robie. A visitation will be held 6 – 8 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2019 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., 902-825-3448 from where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 2nd with Rev. Patty Beals officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Interment will be in the Nictaux Cemetery.
