It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Margaret Darlene (Stevens) St. Pierre which occurred at her home on Saturday, January 5th, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. Born 1959, in Coles Island, NB, she was the daughter of Alice (Cook) Stevens and the late Rupert Stevens. Margaret enjoyed spending time outdoors, tending to her garden and watching the deer and hummingbirds. Christmas was her favorite time of the year. She was devoted to her family. Margaret was a loving mother who took great pride in raising her 3 children. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Margaret is survived by her beloved husband Bertrand of 43 years; son Michael St. Pierre (Jody) of Quispamsis; daughters Carrie-Anne St. Pierre (Jimmy) of Saint John, Rachel St. Pierre of Quispamsis; step-son Joe St. Pierre (Sarah) of Red Deer, AB; brother Brian Stevens (Elizabeth) of Mazerolle Settlement, NB; sisters Linda Kirkpatrick of Hampton, NB, Lorna Stevens of Saint John, Bonnie Appleby (Eldon) of Cambridge Narrows, Anna Stevens (Gerry Kierstead) of Kierstead Mountain, NB, Heather Whelton of Cody’s, NB; grandchildren Nick, Samantha, Devin, Brayden, Taylor and Dani; great granddaughter Savannah; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her brothers Bev, Leonard and Ernest Stevens and sister Donna Dickson.
A special thank you to Dr. Gray and Dr. Thompson from the SJRH Oncology Department. Her family doctor Sean Keyes Jr. for doing in-home visits as well as KV Extra Mural.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Wednesday, January 9th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Memorial Service will take place from the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Thursday, January 10th at 11 a.m. Interment will be held at a later date.
Donations in memory of Margaret may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
