John “Atsienhaienton” Lafrance
July 1, 1928 – January 5, 2019
LAFRANCE, John “Atsienhaienton” Turtle Clan – On January 5, 2019 at the Iakhihstha Lodge; age 90 years. Beloved son of the late Mitchell Lafrance and the late Mary Josephine Loft. Dear brother of Pauline Lafrance Staves (Jerry). Predeceased by his siblings Jake Lafrance, Louis Lafrance, Anthony “Tony” Lafrance and Madeline Lafrance Altheide. Also predeceased by his niece Lisa Margaret Lafrance and by his great-nephew Mitchell John Lafrance. John will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. John and his siblings Tony and Madeline survived a traumatic Life experience when they were taken from their home and “imprisoned” (John’s interpretation) in a Residential School in Spanish, ON in 1932 at the ages of 4 to 6 years old until they were released at the age of 16 years old. Funeral arrangement under the care and direction of LAHAIE & SULLIVAN CORNWALL FUNERAL HOMES, West Branch, 20 Seventh Street West (613-932-8482). Resting at Homemaker’s Snye on Thursday, January 10, 2019 from 4 p.m. until time of Service on Saturday. Funeral Service on Saturday, January 12, 2019 in Homemaker’s Snye at 11 a.m. Burial to follow.
