Obituary for Janet Fenton (Key)

With a heavy heart I wish to announce the passing of Janet Fenton (Key) on
Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Health Sciences North in Sudbury.
After 33 years of marriage she will be dearly missed by her husband, Stan Fenton, as well as, by relatives and many cousins in Canada and England, her BFF’s Irene Wherrell, Diane Hodgins and Barbara O’Leary in England and her two fur babies, Penny and Tanner.
Janet was born in England on January 15, 1947. She was the daughter of Frank and
Minnie Dorothy Key (Robinson). After her father passed away she and her mother immigrated to Canada in 1969 and finally became a Canadian citizen in 2004. She started working with the Ministry of Natural Resources in Toronto around 1974 and retired in 1989 before moving to Sudbury.
Janet had many interests during her lifetime, golfing, camping, travelling, folk art,
Tai Chi, a Shriner Lady, a Hillbilly Gal, many years as a B&B operator and playing cards with friends. She was a devoted Blue Jay fan, loved to watch sports on TV, especially the Olympics, curling and she couldn’t wait for February for the figure skating. But after moving to Sudbury her ardent passion was gardening. She was often kidded about bringing rocks to Sudbury for her rock garden.
She was such a loving person that she had a spot in her heart for everyone. A hug and kiss was her way of greeting.
Special thanks to the wonderful staff at HSN and the Cancer Center for their compassion, Dr. T. Centis, Dr. K. Gil and Dr. J. Bowen, the very helpful staff at Home and Community Care (North East LHIN) and everyone at Bayshore.
Respecting Janet’s wishes, cremation has taken place and she will be buried with her Mum in Toronto. A Celebration of her Life/party will be held in Sudbury and Toronto in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to donate in memory of Janet, please consider the Shriners Hospital for Children in Montreal or, as she was a lover of animals, your local SPCA.
