1930-2019
Peacefully at the Prince Edward Home on Tuesday, January 29,
2019 of Emmett Dougan (the last surviving member of the Dougan family)
of Charlottetown and formerly of Donaldston in his 89th
year.
Beloved husband of the late Shirley (nee Bernard) Dougan and
dear father of Bill (Paula), Rick (Zita) and Karen Smith. Loving
grandfather to Shauna (Matt), Lynn (Phil) Dunlop, Beverley Dougan
(Allan Stewart), Catherine (Darren) Ford, Sheena (Andrew) Russell,
Lacey (Jarvis) Simmonds, Sarah Dougan (Brodie MacPhee), Emma Dougan
(Alex Taylor) and great grandfather of 13.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Florence (nee
Smith) Dougan of Donaldston; and 11 brothers, Leo (Margaret), Frank,
Patrick (Sophie), Thomas (Eleanor), Jack (Evelyn), Joseph (Norma),
Vincent (Marie), Frederick (Joyce), Justin, Maurice (Anita) and
Charles (Frances).
Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown
Funeral Home until Saturday, then transferred to St.
Bonaventure’s Church, Tracadie Cross for funeral mass at
10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Bonaventure’s Parish
Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00
p.m.
Charlottetown Branch #1 of the Royal Canadian Legion will
hold a Veteran’s Tribute Service at the funeral home on
Friday at 3:30 p.m.
If so desired memorial contributions may be made
to the Alzheimers Society or Lupin Valley of the Prince Edward
Home.
Emmett’s family would like to thank the
Doctor’s , Nurses and staff of the Prince Edward Home for
the excellent care given to him.
