Alex Morris

Alex Morris was born in Neepawa, Manitoba in 1925. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1942 and served until 1945. After the war, he pursued his studies in sciences at the University of Manitoba and in forestry engineering at the University of New Brunswick. He started his long career at the Consolidated Paper Corporation in 1949 where he worked until his retirement in 1989. At the time of the retirement, he was Division Forester for the St-Maurice Region. Alex was a member of the l’Ordre des ingénieurs forestiers du Quebec and a member of many other professional groups.
Alex was married to his beloved Yvette Raill from October 1950 to March 2009 and had three children Kathy, Gerry and Steven.
In 2009, Alex moved to the Résidence du Château Symmes in Aylmer where he met his current spouse Anita, with whom he spent his last years.
Alex is fondly remembered by his three children Kathy, Gerry and Steven (Marie-Andrée), his spouse Anita and her family, his grand-children Brendan (Jennie), Jason, Emily (Nick), Marie-Jules (Tierry), Elizabeth, Rebecca (Emmanuel), his great-grandson Lucas, his sister-in-law Peggy as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
In-memorium donations may be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Quebec Kidney Foundation.
Alex Morris est né en 1925 à Neepawa au Manitoba. En 1942, il entame son service militaire dans le Royal Canadian Air Force jusqu’en 1945. Après la guerre il poursuit ses études en sciences à l’Université du Manitoba et en génie forestier à l’Université du Nouveau-Brunswick. Il débute sa longue carrière à la Consolidated Paper Corporation en 1949 et y restera jusqu’à sa retraite en 1989 à titre de forestier divisionnaire pour la région St-Maurice. Alex est membre de l’Ordre des ingénieurs forestiers de Québec et est aussi membre de plusieurs autres regroupements professionnels.
Alex épouse Mme Yvette Raill en octobre 1950 et ils seront mariés jusqu’en mars 2009 lors du décès de cette dernière. Alex et Yvette ont eu trois enfants, Kathy, Gerry et Steven.
En 2009, Alex déménage à la résidence du Château Symmes à Aylmer et rencontre sa conjointe actuelle, Anita avec qui il a partagé ses dernières années.
Alex laisse dans le deuil ses trois enfants Kathy, Gerry et Steven (Marie-Andrée), sa conjointe Anita et sa famille, ses petits-enfants (Brendan (Jennie), Jason, Emily (Nick), Marie-Jules (Tierry), Elizabeth, Rebecca (Emmanuel), son arrière-petit-fils Lucas, sa belle-sœur Peggy ainsi que de nombreux neveux, nièces et amis.
Des dons en la mémoire d’Alex peuvent être faits à la Société canadienne des maladies du cœur ou à la Fondation québécoise des maladies du rein.
