OBITUARY
Zelma Anne MCLAREN
29 June , 1922 – 14 April , 2018
Zelma passed peacefully on April 14th in Surrey Memorial Hospital. Loving Mother of Don (Maureen), Gerry (deceased), Barry (Karen), Anne (Dean), and Al (Norine). Caring Grandmother of Jim, Sheryl, Dara (Kyle), Cam, Katie, Dania, and Great Grandmother to Emilia. Predeceased by her husband Bill- married almost 64 years- and her siblings Mildred, Bill, John and Shirley.
Zelma was born in Kamloops in 1922 and grew up in Birch Island. She moved to Blue River in 1944 and then to Vancouver in 1956 to raise her family. Whether you knew her as Mom, Grandma, Aunt Zel, Zelma or Mrs. Mac, she touched everyone’s life with her positivity and friendly ways. We are all going to miss her very much but are thankful for all the memories over her lifetime of almost 96 years.
Special thanks to all her neighbours and friends who helped keep her life vibrant and fun over the final years in her own home. A celebration of her life will take place on June 30th at Kennedy Senior Centre in North Delta. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to Surrey Memorial Hospital.
